White City opens its doors!

At 9am this morning Westfield's White City Shopping Centre, London opened its door for trading after some 10 years of designing and construction.

The £1.6 billion centre is the biggest urban shopping centre ever built spanning some 43 acres and containing 265 shops at the site in Shepherd's Bush.

Batchelor Electrical have been working at the site since July with the electrical fit-out of 4 retail units - Blooming Marvellous, Swarovski, Principles and Uniqlo.

Despite all of the recent economic gloom developers Westfield have managed to secure over 99% of the units to let with over 85% open for trading on the first day.

White City was officially opened by Mayor of London - Boris Johnson and singer Leona Lewis to a crowd of tens of thousands.

The centre hopes to attract 21 million shoppers per year.
