Uniqlo Reading opens to critical acclaim Japanese fashion giant Uniqlo® has opened its new fresh format store concept on 05 May 2007. The 10,000 sq ft (975 sq m) store split over two sales floors is to be a new blueprint for further planned non-major city store fit-outs throughout the UK. Completed by Oakwood Shopfitting and Batchelor Electrical, the store featured recently in Retail Week (May 11, 2007) and was recognised by Visual Thinking Brand Director – Karl McEveer who stated: "It’s a very smart, contemporary sort of fascia. This is the way you want a GAP store to look…What I like about it is that all of the elements have been thought through…If I was the head of GAP I would be looking at this store and wondering ‘why can’t we do this?’
Uniqlo Reading prior to merchandising and the cash-desk with feature curved tile wall The electrical lighting scheme consisted of iGuzzini® lighting scheme comprising of low voltage downlighters, recessed track lighting, compact flourescents and large ‘Liquid Light’ feature pendants manufactured by Next Lighting, Germany to create a unique modern look to the store.
