Evalon Solar wins RIBA Innovation Award.

The Alwitra Evalon Solar PV ® array system has scooped yet another award at this years 100% Detail exhibition. The event, sponsored by the Royal institute British Architects (RIBA) Journal Innovation Award was held at Earls Court in September 2006.

The RIBA “Most Innovative Product” award judged by some of the UK’s leading architects and the RIBA itself, recognised and short listed some of the most innovative products from over 140 exhibitors, but commended the Evalon Solar PV array system, stating:

“We felt this product offered potential for great coverage, particularly on large-scale projects such as distribution warehouses and supermarkets where instead of small arrays there could now be acres of this installed. Unlike previous photovoltaic systems that have to be installed in addition to the roofing ICB’s Evalon Solar offers simple easy installation through a very simple innovation of pairing two products –flexible waterproof membrane and thin cell PVs.”

In 2005 the Evalon PV ® array system received a prestigious Gold Batimat Award for product innovation at the Batimat International Building Exhibition held in Paris showcasing some of the world’s most exciting building products.
