date: 21/07/2009 Batchelor Electrical sees growth in renewable sector contractsFor over 5 years Batchelor Electrical has been one of the UK's leading electrical contractors at the forefront of solar photovoltaic technology. Working with our partners ICB Alwitra we have installed various solar photovoltaic (pv) projects including domestic, commercial and local authority projects utilising the Evalon Solar roofing product. Over this time Batchelor Electrical have seen growth within the sector, however, the recent white paper for Feed-In-Tariffs looks set to dramatically change the sector. As from April 2010 the Government will implement its overdue Feed-In-Tariff which will reward domestic properties and businesses between 25-36.5p per unit for each unit of electricity that is produced and not just surplus electricity fed back to the grid as previously thought. Working with the 'We Support Solar' campaign Batchelor Electrical has campaigned to ensure a good rate is set for the Feed-In-Tariff. This was supported further by local MP Annette Brooke who helped raise awareness in the House of Commons by signing the Early Day Motion (EDM) 689. If the initial rates for systems less than 10 kw are to be replicated for large scale commercial projects then the early signs are very encouraging.
