date: 0708/2009 Batchelor Electrical apply for the Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS)Batchelor Electrical hope to be one of the first UK electrical contractors to be approved by the NICEIC as an accredited Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS) for solar photovoltaic installations. The Department for Business Enterprise and Regulatory Reform (BERR) designed the MCS to create criteria that installers and/or product manufacturers can follow to install environmental technologies. This should in turn provide a better service for consumers and ensure that the grant money available is spent in the most efficient way. A two year pilot of MCS recently ended and the MCS has been opened up to other UKAS (United Kingdom Accreditation Service) accredited bodies. The MCS has been designed to provide registered Environmental Technology installation companies access to Government grants for the Installation of Environmental Technologies. Working with leading photovoltaic suppliers Batchelor Electrical has been at the forefront of electrical solar photovoltaic installations across the UK completing works for schools, hospitals, commercial and high-end domestic applications into grid fed pv array systems. With the announcement last month of the 2010 Feed-inTariff energy cashback scheme, the future for renewable solar photovoltaic energy in the UK looks encouraging and having the MCS accreditation will only enhance Batchelor Electrical's position within this sector. |
