Batchelor Electrical have been working with DSGi since 2009 as part of an ongoing framework agreement. The programme covers the refitting of the store portfolio of Currys, Currys Digital and PC World stores.
To date, Batchelor Electrical have been awarded 15 stores with further stores secured for 2010 in the Southern region.
In Brighton, Batchelor Electrical have completed refits to all 3 stores for DSGi to their PC World, Currys and Currys Digital brands. The Brighton stores range from 350 sqm for the Curry Digital high street format store through to 2,100 sqm and 3,000 sqm for the PC World and Currys superstore formats respectively.
Each store refit includes a comprehensive overhaul to lighting and small power to both back of house areas and sales floor. New store features include interactive play tables to showcase the latest products and enhanced lighting schemes.
During the refit of the Currys Superstore a new mezzanine was added giving additional sales floor space.
Many of the stores during the roll-our programme have been refitted whilst the store is still trading to allow minimum disruption to the client.
Batchelor Electrical is currently working directly with DSGi to combine some of their existing neighbouring PC World / Currys superstores into singular 2 in 1 knock through units.
DSGi report generally that the new format trading stores have seen an uplift in gross profit, on average, of 20%.*
